Moldovan diplomacy head pays working visit to Stockholm

Chisinau, 5 December /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu is on a working visit to Stockholm on 5-6 December.
According to the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service, the agenda of the Moldovan official in the Swedish capital includes meetings with Foreign Affairs Minister of Sweden Tobias Billström, Minister for International Development Cooperation Johan Forssell, the state secretary for European affairs at the office of the Swedish prime minister, as well as with a parliamentary delegation of Riksdag (legislative body of Sweden), led by Deputy Parliament Speakers Julia Kronlind and Kerstin Lundgren.
During the meetings with the high-ranking Swedish officials, Minister Nicu Popescu will pursue the goal of boosting the bilateral political and diplomatic dialogue; will establish the priorities in the promotion of the European integration agenda, in the context of Sweden holding the EU Presidency as of 1 January 2023. The Moldovan diplomacy head will also discuss the security situation as a result of Russia’s unprovoked war against Ukraine and will refer to its impact on Moldova in the social, economic and energy sectors.
At the same time, Nicu Popescu will participate in a panel discussion with the leaders of the analytical centres, journalists and officials titled, Regional energy crisis and European integration of Moldova, hosted by the Stockholm-based Centre for Eastern European Studies. He will also take part in an event on the promotion of the national wine-making and vine-growing industry with the presentation of the companies: Cricova, Castel Mimi, Chateau Vartely, Fautor, Equinox, Gitana Winery, Milestii Mici, Bostavan, Purcari and Pelican Negru.
