Chisinau, Dec. 23 /MOLDPRES/- The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) announced for the next three days (December 24-26), the maximum retail prices of the main standard oil products at the level of: 22.21 lei/liter - for COR 95 petrol (+0.13 lei); 23.06 lei/liter - for standard diesel (+0.13 lei). Thus, after a period of more than a month of declines, the prices of fuels register a slight increase.
"Following the trend of continuous decrease in fuel prices, which resulted in a cheapening of almost 5 lei/liter, and compared to the maximum values recorded in 2022, a discount of about 12 lei/liter for petrol and about 10 lei/liter (0.5 euro) for diesel, currently there is a slight increase. The change is largely driven by market expectations of the Russian Federation cutting oil production by 5-7% from the beginning of 2023. Stock markets immediately reacted to the statement by Russian officials that starting next year sales to countries that I support capping the prices of Russian crude oil and petroleum products", indicates ANRE.
At the same time, according to several sources, it is expected that Russia's oil exports from the Baltic Sea could register a decrease of 20% in December compared to the previous month, after the European Union and the G7 countries imposed sanctions and a price ceiling on Russian crude oil, starting from December 5, ANRE said.
