Chisinau, 13 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- The process of drawing up, calculating and approving tariffs for public waste management services will be optimized. The methodology that establishes the new rules in this regard was published in the Official Journal today.

The document sets the way of calculating the tariffs for public municipal waste management services, in accordance with the actual expenses of the providers. At the same time, a profit margin for operators will be ensured.

Currently, the tariff for the sanitation service is set by the local public administration and varies from one region to another. According to the new methodology, the tariffs for comparable categories of consumers in terms of the expenses incurred for the provision of the respective service to them will be standardized.

The new methodology entered into force with the publication in the Official Journal. In the next six months, the responsible authorities are to approve the tariffs for public waste management services in accordance with the new regulations.
