ANSP recommends establishment of morning filter in early childhood education institutions

Chisinau, 16 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- The National Agency for Public Health /ANSP/ recommends the population to observe the preventive measures against viruses and flu and to set up the morning filter in early education institutions, by checking the temperature and the signs/symptoms of acute viral respiratory disease. The recommendations come after two deaths caused by the flu were registered over the weekend.
The ANSP specialists propose that medical institutions permanently monitor and evaluate the epidemiological situation through influenza, check and complete drug stocks, ensure the collection of epidemiological data and provide medical assistance to sick people according to clinical protocols.
It is also recommended to limit the access of visitors to hospitals and polyclinics and the wearing of masks by staff and visitors, the strengthening of infection control activities and measures, the implementation of specific and non-specific prophylaxis activities among the population and professional groups at increased risk of illness.
According to ANSP, since the beginning of the cold season, 934 cases of influenza and 136,026 cases of acute respiratory tract infections have been registered in the Republic of Moldova. Most cases of respiratory infections were recorded in minors. In the same period, the flu claimed three lives.
