About 5,500 petitions, appeals reached Parliament last year

Chisinau, 25 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- In 2022, Parliament registered 5433 petitions and appeals. The number is 308 higher, compared to 2021. Most of them refer to alleged violations of the right to free access to justice, the right to security and personal dignity.

According to the parliament's communication and public relations department, most petitions, 4495, were submitted in written form. At the same time, 1725 were transmitted in electronic format. 495 citizens were also interviewed.

According to the statistics, 4470 petitions, over 82% of the total number, were submitted by private people, and 663, about 18%, were set up by legal entities.

Under the legal provisions, petitions can be made orally or in writing. Citizens also have the opportunity to address online petitions to the Parliament at https://petitii.parlament.md/.
