Moldova's contribution to 2023 EU Enlargement Report handed over in Brussels

Chisinau, April 21 /MOLDPRES/- In Brussels, Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu handed Director-General of Directorate-General Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations Gert-Jan Koopman Moldova's contribution to the EU Enlargement Report for 2023, the MAEIE press service has reported.

"This is a historic moment and a first exercise of this kind for our country, an exercise in which hundreds of employees of state institutions presented the progress and reforms of the last year. We had a productive discussion about Moldova's significant progress in implementing the nine recommendations of the European Commission. On this occasion, we reiterated our commitment to continue the implementation of the reform agenda, so that the accession negotiations can be initiated in the shortest possible time.

We also referred to the organization of the Summit of the European Political Community - a unique opportunity for the Republic of Moldova to assert its European aspirations and to strengthen relations with our partners", said the Moldovan official.

Popescu pays a working visit to Brussels on April 20-22.
