ANRE: Fuel prices continue downward trend

Chisinau, April 21 /MOLDPRES/- The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) recently observed a downward trend in Platts quotations for petroleum products on international exchanges.
According to ANRE, in the range of the last 14 days used to calculate the maximum prices, Platts fuel quotations decreased by $109/ton for petrol and $79.5/ton for diesel. Respectively, the decrease represents about 11.9% for petrol and 10% for diesel.
Under these conditions, starting from the pricing algorithm based on the average value of Platts quotes for the previous 14 days correlated to the leu/dollar exchange rate, for April 22-25, ANRE established the following maximum retail prices of for the main standard oil products: for COR 95 petrol – 24.97 lei/liter (- 0.24 lei) and for diesel – 20.64 lei/liter (- 0.20 lei).
Also, ANRE announced that another factor currently contributing to the decrease in the final price of petroleum products is the appreciation of the national currency in relation to the US dollar, which in the same period is about 0.24 lei.
