Chisinau, April 22 /MOLDPRES/- During the Easter holidays, border police and customs officials will implement the single window principle at the most requested state border crossing points.

According to the Border Police, the measure aims to ensure free circulation in the most requested crossing points. The pilot projects implemented so far at the Palanca, Tudora stations and, recently, at the Leușeni-Albita state border crossing point, on the way out of the country, have shown that the single window brings immediate advantages for the convenience and comfort of citizens who crosses the border and represents an effective strategy to eliminate the premises of acts of corruption and to counter cross-border crime.

At the same time, the Border Police and the Customs Service previously announced that during the Easter holidays they will supplement the number of employees involved in border control. They will be provided with special control technique. The opportunities offered by the infrastructure of the border crossing points will be used to their maximum capacity. Depending on the need, the REVERSE procedure will be applied, which involves redirecting traffic to the available lanes from the opposite direction of travel.

At the same time, the interoperability of the databases and the mutual exchange of information regarding the flow of passengers and means of transport will be ensured, including continuous communication with counterparts from neighboring countries, but also with other responsible authorities at the border.

The authorities recommend travelers to be patient with the existing procedures when crossing the border, but also to diversify the choice of crossing points, so as not to overload only some of them. In this context, the Online traffic applications on the web pages of the Border Police and the Customs Service are useful, where the situation when crossing the state border can be followed in real time.
