President congratulates Moldovan winners at European Championship

Chisinau, April 22 /MOLDPRES/- President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu sent a congratulatory message to our athletes, who won the 2023 European Wrestling Championship, held in Zagreb on April 19-21, the presidential press service has reported.

"People are the greatest wealth of our country. We are proud of those who are our models and build the country's image in the world from their performances. Today the heroes of the day are athletes Anastasia Nichita, Irina Rîngaci and Vasile Diaconu. They climbed the winners' podium at the 2023 European Wrestling Championship, held in Zagreb on April 19-21. Thanks to them, the flag of the Republic of Moldova was raised three times at this competition", said Maia Sandu.

The head of state said that Anastasia Nichita won the gold medal and became the European champion for the third time. Irina Rîngaci won the silver medal, and Vasile Diaconu – the bronze medal.

At the same time, Maia Sandu conveyed a message of gratitude: "Congratulations, Anastasia, Irina, Vasile! Congratulations to your coaches and parents! Thank you for your work and dedication. Good luck and new victories!".
