National Sambo Team won six medals at European Championship

Chisinau, April 22 /MOLDPRES/- The National Sambo Team of the Republic of Moldova won six medals at the European Sambo Championship (U-20), held in Israel.

According to the Ministry of Education and Research, the athletes obtained the following medals: Alexandrina Ghemu - 2nd place (72 kg), Maxim Iuhnevici - 3rd place (71 kg), Lucian Brai - 3rd place (64 kg), Vera Zorea - 3rd place (54 kg), Evelina Cazacu – 3rd place (80 kg) and Daria Vlah – 3rd place (59 kg).

"The victories of the Moldovan athletes are due to the hard work of the coaches of the National Sambo Team, Iulian Piatcovschi, Mihail Fistican and Petru Curu. They hold the honorary titles of "Coach Emeritus", a press release of the institution reads.
