Moldovan Ambassador to Moscow summoned to Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Chisinau, April 25 /MOLDPRES/- Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the Russian Federation Lilian Darii was summoned today to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The reason would be the expulsion of a Russian diplomat from Moldova.
The information was confirmed for the agency by press officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MAEIE) Maxim Stratan. He said that the institution will give more details.
Last week, a representative of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Chisinau was designated persona non grata on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, and he was forced to leave our country. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs made the statement. The information was communicated to the Russian side on April 19, together with the summoning of Russian Ambassador to Chisinau Oleg Vasnetsov to the MAEIE.
The decision was taken after on Monday, April 17, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, Rustam Minnikhanov was not allowed to enter Moldova as the reason for his arrival was not clear.
Last week, at the beginning of the cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that the Republic of Moldova does not associate with the war and atrocities that are being committed in Ukraine, or people who support such things are not welcome in our country. He said that the people who support the crimes, killing the civilian population in the neighboring state are not welcome in our country.
