Representative of Moldovan Embassy in Moscow declared persona non grata in Russian Federation

Chisinau, April 25 /MOLDPRES/- The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declared an employee of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the Russian Federation persona non grata. A corresponding note to this effect was handed today to Ambassador of our country to Moscow Lilian Darii, who was summoned to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The decision was taken after last week a representative of the Russian Embassy in Chisinau was designated persona non grata on the territory of Moldova, and he was forced to leave our country.
At the same time, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that the head of the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Moldova was informed about the decision "to close the entry into the Russian Federation for several officials from our country, in response to their anti-Russian statements, as well as Chisinau's joining the EU sanctions lists, which includes Russian citizens".
Last week, a representative of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Chisinau was designated persona non grata on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, and he was forced to leave our country. The decision was taken after on April 17, President of the Republic of Tatarstan in Russia Rustam Minnikhanov was not allowed to enter Moldova as the reason for his arrival was not clear.
Last week, at the beginning of the cabinet session, Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that the Republic of Moldova does not associate with the war and atrocities that are being committed in Ukraine, or that people who support such actions are not welcome in our country.
