Chisinau, 26 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) today signed an agreement on cooperation with the West China College of Stomatology from Sichuan, People’s Republic of China. The document sees the carrying out of mutual exchanges of information on university and post-graduate education, including through academic mobilities for students, physicians residents, physicians training for doctor’s degree, teachers and physicians.
At the event, Rector of USMF Nicolae Testemitanu Emil Ceban stressed that the agreement would facilitate the development of syllabi and would bring new achievements in the research sector. ‘’We are willing to take over knowledge on modern ways of research in the stomatology field. China enjoys world recognition in the field of medicine and modern technologies in the sector. This partnership is essential for making progress and sustainable development for the benefit of both countries,’’ Emil Ceban said.
For his part, the dean of the West China College of Stomatology, Ling Ye, said that, in the long run, the cooperation between the two institutions was quite important for strengthening the Moldovan-Chinese bilateral relations. ‘’It is essential for us to make exchange of knowledge in the medicine sector. Stomatology is an important component of the modern medicine; therefore, we rely on the development of the relations in this sector. We are sure that this cooperation will yield nice results,’’ Ling Ye noted.
Attending the event, Ambassador of China to Moldova Yen Wenbin emphasized that the signing of the agreement was an important event for the two institutions. ‘’The document will improve the forms and ways of medical training. Thus, meetings, seminars and conferences will be organized, scientific articles, guides and teaching materials will be worked out. The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Chisinau will provide every needed support to this end,’’ Yan Wenbin noted.
Under the document, in the research sector, the sides will elaborate joint proposals of projects, in order to get grants for financing projects, will make theoretical and practical studies in priority fields. At the same time, international conferences and symposia will be held, programmes on training teachers will be carried out through doctoral and post-graduate education, including the maintaining of doctor’s and post-graduate theses through cotutelle. The agreement was signed for a five-year period.
