Moldova's legislation in market supervision sector adjusted to European Union's one

Chisinau, 17 May /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers approved, at an initiative by the Economic Development and Digitalization Ministry, the amendment of the normative framework on the market supervision and products’ compliance, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The draft will contribute to the improvement of the market’s work and consolidation of its supervision. Thus, only the conforming products will have access to the market, which meet the requirements established and provide a high level of protection of the public interests, such as the health and safety at the working place, protection of consumers and of the environment.
Moreover, the draft establishes the instruments of ensuring the observance of the requirements for the compliance of the non-food products fabricated, including in the online trade. Also, the document sees the extension of the market’s supervision from 27 to 55 categories of products.
Under the document, the State Inspectorate for Supervision of Non-Food Products and Consumers’ Protection will be nominated as the only liaison office, which will facilitate the assistance and the administrative cooperation between the market supervision authorities.
To get a more efficient assistance and cooperation with economic agents, a national digital portal will be elaborated, which will facilitate the online access to information, administrative procedures and services of support for the citizens and economic agents from Moldova. The portal will provide access to the platform, Your Europe, managed by the European Commission.
The draft law represents a commitment taken in the context of the Moldova-European Union Association Agreement.
