Moldovan, Azerbaijani officials broach bilateral relations in Baku

Chisinau, May 17 /MOLDPRES/- Deputy speaker Mihail Popșoi had a meeting with first deputy speaker of Azerbaijan Ali Huseynli in Baku. They discussed Moldovan-Azerbaijani relations, prospects for strengthening the inter-parliamentary dialogue and the situation in the region, in the context of the war in Ukraine.
Popsoi said that in recent years, the relations between the Republic of Moldova and Azerbaijan have seen a positive dynamic and are based on mutual support and respect.
"Azerbaijan is a reliable partner of Moldova. Over the years, the two countries have collaborated in several important fields, from trade and energy to culture and education. We are grateful for the support and friendship of the Azerbaijani people, as well as its leadership, and we are willing to continue developing a closer partnership in the years to come", Popșoi said.
He said our country is counting on attracting investments in sectors such as energy efficiency, IT, logistics and transport.
Ali Huseynli said that Azerbaijan is open to the intensification of Moldovan-Azerbaijani relations. "We want to give a new impetus to this collaboration, including at the parliamentary level," he said.
Popsoi participated in Baku in the Special Session of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
