Chisinau, May 17 /MOLDPRES/- At today's meeting, the government approved two projects on denunciation of previously concluded Agreements within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
The first project refers to the Agreement on the exchange of information in protection of the external borders of the CIS member states, concluded in Moscow on April 12, 1996. "The social, political and economic reasons that once served as the basis for the drafting of the Agreement no longer correspond to the current realities in the management and protection of state borders", the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a press release.
After the cabinet meeting, Minister of Internal Affairs Ana Revenco said that the MAI has 39 agreements concluded on the specific line of activity with the CIS.
The second project approved by the Government concerns the denunciation of the Agreement on the general conditions for the delivery of goods between the organizations of the CIS member states, concluded in Kiev on March 20, 1992.
Earlier this week, Speaker Igor Grosu announced that the procedure for the withdrawal of the Republic of Moldova from the Agreement on the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS will be initiated.
