Moldovan head of state meets ECHR president

Chisinau, May 17 /MOLDPRES/- President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu met with President of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) Siofra O'Leary at the Summit in Reykjavik.

According to the presidential press service, the officials discussed the role of the ECHR and the Council of Europe in carrying out reforms and aligning with the best practices in justice.

"We will continue the good cooperation to strengthen the institutions in our country. "Moldova continues to advance in the international rankings regarding democracy, which proves our firm commitment to the development of a society where justice prevails," said Maia Sandu.

On May 16-17, Maia Sandu will participate in the Council of Europe Summit of heads of state and government in Iceland.
