Delegations to JCC address issue of free movement in Security Zone

Chisinau, 19 June /MOLDPRES/ -The main issue on the agenda of the Joint Control Commission’s (JCC) meeting from 18 June was the free movement in the Security Zone. The talks on the matter were held in a constructive and working atmosphere, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
The concerned issue was introduced on the agenda at a JCC meeting from 29 January 2015. Meanwhile, diverse proposals by JCC delegations, representatives of Ukraine and OSCE Mission, were put forward and considered. At the same time, at the meetings on 19 March and 9 April, compromises and results were reached able to help identify viable solutions to free movement in the Security Zone.
The Moldovan delegation reiterated the need to start an impartial monitoring of the situation in the Security Zone, made by Russian and Ukrainian experts under the aegis of the OSCE Mission. This would allow showing present deficiencies in the work of the peacekeeping mechanism and would give military observers possibility to promptly react to incidents occurred in the Security Zone.
Proceeding from the need to make additional consultations on technical issues, the item is to be further approached at the next JCC meeting. At the same time, co-chairs, representatives of Ukraine and OSCE Mission, will convene at a working meeting to tackle possible options to solve the problems of free movement, order and stability in the Security Zone, in line with previously assumed commitments.
