Moldovan electoral body sets peculiarities of voting at runoff local election

Chisinau, 24 June /MOLDPRES/ - The voters who changed their domicile or residence on  the period between the first round of the polls and runoff local election will be able to vote on the basis of the same electoral lists at the polling stations, according to the residence recorded on 14 June 2015. The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) took a decision to this effect on 23 June. 

CEC also established that the persons who turned 18 on the period between the two rounds of the polls would be able to vote according to their domicile or residence and would be included in the additional electoral list. 

At the same time, the commission on 23 June also approved an instruction on the procedure of recounting of the ballot papers at the local elections. The document stipulates that the vote recount is decided by the competent court and is carried out in seven days upon the date of the concerned decision's adoption at the latest. 

On 28 June, the runoff election will be organised to elect mayors in 457 Moldovan settlements, and repeated voting will be held in another three villages.
