Participation quota in elections in Moldova exceeds 24 per cent

Chisinau, 28 June /MOLDPRES/ - All Moldovan polling stations work in normal regime and the quota of participation of voters was of over 24 per cent at 13:00. The head of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), Iurie Ciocan, made statements to this affect at a briefing.
Ciocan said that the highest participation quota of almost 31 per cent was recorded in Soldanesti. The lowest quota of participation was recorded by a voting station in Cahul, where about 18 per cent of voters came to vote.
”About 52 per cent of electors are men and 48 per cent are women. Most of these are aged over 50 years old,” Ciocan said.
Citizens will elect 459 mayors of settlements at the today elections.
