Over 800,000 voters participate in today local elections in Moldova

Chisinau, 28 June /MOLDPRES/ - Over 800,000 voters participated in the local elections today. The head of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), Iurie Ciocan, has made a statement to this effect at a news briefing.
According to Ciocan, the voter turnout stood at 44.73 in Moldova. "The highest voter turnout was recorded in Soldanesti - more than 56 per cent and the lowest one in Calarasi - 42 per cent.
"Over 48.79 per cent of the voters registered in lists took part in the ballot in the Chisinau electoral district," Ciocan said.
The CEC head specified that the voting process had been carried out with no incidents in the Topala village, southern Cimislia district, and the Ulmu settlement, central Ialoveni district.
