Moldovan government earmarks 3.6 million lei to people subjected to political repressions

Chisinau, 1 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Finance Ministry in 2015 will earmark 3.6 million lei from the state budget to local public administration authorities to pay compensations to people subjected to political repressions. The government took a decision to this end today.
Twenty six victims of political repressions, whose assets were confiscated, nationalised or got out of property, will benefit from compensations.
Under the draft decision, if the amount of goods does not exceed 200,000 lei, the compensation will be paid for a period of up to three years, and if it exceeds the concerned amount, the compensation will be paid for a period of up to five years.
Also today, the cabinet approved two draft decisions which stipulate earmarking of 9.5 million lei to provide one-off allowances to some categories of citizens for building houses, purchase dwellings or restore old houses.
Acting Finance Minister Anatol Arapu highlighted that the allowances would be provided to citizens who did not benefit from preferential credits and were not provided with apartments till 22 October 2004, those having guarantee letters issued by local public administration authorities till 1 January 2010 and those who do not have such letters, starting from 1 January 2014.
As many as 205 persons will benefit from such allowances in 2015 in all.
