IBRD to offer 40.5 million dollars for Moldovan centralised thermal energy supply system

Chisinau, 2 July /MOLDPRES/- The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), part of World Bank (WB), will lend Moldova a credit amounting to 40.5 million dollars for improving efficiency of centralised thermal energy supply sector in Chisinau. The parliament ratified a loan agreement today.
This money will be used to rebuild underground segments of thermal networks, to modernise pumping stations and other efficiency measures.
Acting Deputy Economics Minister Valeriu Triboi said that after contracting the credit, thermal power tariffs for consumers would remain unchanged.
The credit will be offered for a 34-year period, with a five-year grace period.
