Acting premier says Moldova continues to be firmly engaged in reforms, European agenda

Chisinau, 2 July /MOLDPRES/ - Acting Prime Minister Natalia Gherman today met co-rapporteur of the European Parliament for Moldova Petras Auštrevičius, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

„Moldova remains firmly engaged in reforms and European agenda,” Gherman said. Gherman added that the Moldovan authorities’ priorities continued to be justice reform, fight against corruption and security of the financial and banking sector. Gherman said that a special attention was paid to cooperation with the European Union in energy security and transport networks interconnection.

In the context of marking the first anniversary of ratification of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement by the Moldovan parliament, the officials tackled the results of temporary implementation of accord. Gherman underlined that the 2015 legislative plan on implementation of commitments taken within the Association Agreement, already approved by the government, would contribute to synchronise the parliament’s and government’s agendas. At the same time, it will lead to a higher productivity as to implement the agreement.

Natalia Gherman welcomed the launch of the project on annual cooperation between the Moldovan and European parliaments, which is to be implemented in 2015. The project stipulates the providing of assistance to the Moldovan parliament as to adjust the national legislation to the European one, support for active participation of women in political life of Moldova, as well as political responsibility of parliamentary groups.
