Moldovan prosecutors' council appoints first deputy prosecutor general

Chisinau,3 July /MOLDPRES/- Eduard Harunjen was appointed as First Deputy Prosecutor General, following a proposal by the Superior Prosecutors' Council.
According to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, Harunjen, 43 years old, started his career within the prosecution bodies in 1994, holding more positions during the time: head of department for control of criminal investigation at the Chisinau-based prosecutor's office and prosecutor for special missions in the Prosecutor General's Office, and in August 2013, he was appointed as Anti-corruption Prosecutor, - an office held so far.
During his activity, he was awarded the "Eminent of prosecution" chest badge and "For impeccable service" medal, first degree. Currently, Harunjen holds the qualification degree first-rank legal adviser.
Under the Article 40 of the law on prosecution, the first deputy and deputy prosecutor general are appointed by the prosecutor general, following a proposal by the Superior Prosecutors' Council ,for a five-year mandate.
