Moldovan parliaments adopts law on mediation

Chisinau, 3 July /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament passed the law on mediation in final reading today.
The law stipulates the promotion and encouraging of use of mediation, in order to solve litigations amiably, facilitate access to qualified mediation services and ensure a fair and efficient relationship between mediation and judicial procedures.
The bill also provides for the delimitation of powers of the Justice Ministry and Mediation Council in the area. At the same time, the Mediation Council will propose to work out policies and improve normative framework, whereas the Justice Ministry will elaborate, coordinate and monitor the enforcement of policy documents.
The aforementioned law was voted by 83 MPs and will enter into force upon publication in the Moldovan Official Journal.
