United States marks National Day today

Chisinau, 4 July /MOLDPRES/- The United States of America marks National Day today. It is situated in central part of the continent, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, bordering Canada and Mexico.
It is a federal republic consisting of 50 states and a federal district (Colombia). Its capital is Washington D.C.
At 3.8 million square miles (9.83 million km2) and with over 312 million people, the United States is the world's fourth-largest country by total area and third most populous. It is one of the world's most ethnically diverse and multicultural nations, the product of large-scale immigration from many countries.
The geography and climate of the United States are also extremely diverse, and the country is home to a wide variety of wildlife.
The federal government is headed by President, who has a four-year mandate. The executive decisions are taken by the president. The cabinet includes vice president and 15 heads of executive departments.
The U.S.A. exports transport means, equipment and industrial machines, electrical and electronics apparatus, chemicals and others. It imports mining raw materials, petrol, tea, coffee anf food products.
The United States is a developed country and has the world's largest economy by nominal and real GDP, benefiting from an abundance of natural resources and high worker productivity.
Diplomatic relations between Moldova and the U.S.A. were set on 28 February 1992.
According to data put out by the National Statistics Bureau of Moldova, the Moldovan-American trade amounted to 108 million dollars in 2014, up by 10 million dollars against in 2013, the export was estimated at 32 million and import - 76 million dollars. On 1 February 2015, 382 Moldovan-American joint ventures were registered.
