Speaker asks for support to sign agreements on social protection of Moldovans from Spain

Chisinau, 8 July /MOLDPRES/- Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu has asked the Spanish authorities for support to sign agreements on social protection of Moldovans staying in Spain. |The concerned issue was discussed at a today's meeting between Andrian Candu and State Secretary of Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain Ignacio Ybáñez, on a visit to Moldova, the parliament's communication and media relations department has reported.
Candu voiced hope that a new stage of cooperation relations between Moldova and Spain was to be set in diverse sectors, especially, in the economic, social and cultural ones. It is about implementation of joint economic projects, in transport and energy sectors, infrastructure, as well as organisation of business missions for attracting Spanish investments into the Moldovan economy.
The speaker also referred to the legislative priorities and domestic political developments. "Our priorities for the next period are creation of a majority coalition, investiture of a new government and resuming negotiations with IMF, to continue implementing the agenda of reforms and democratization of the country, economic growth, creation of an attractive business environment and fighting corruption. To implement the provisions of the Association Agreement, political stability is needed, first of all", Candu said.
At the same time, the speaker said that the MPs this week were to consider and adopt a programme of legislative priorities on transposing commitments assumed within the Association Agreement between Moldova and EU for the next two years.
Candu thanked the Spanish authorities for the fact that Spain's parliament had ratified the Association Agreement between Moldova and EU, and now, the document was to be signed by the King of Spain.
For his part, the Spanish official welcomed the efforts of European integration of Moldova, noting that Spain would further back the country in the modernisation and democratization process.
