Chisinau, 8 July /MOLDPRES/- Four oil companies have notified the National Agency for Regulation of Energy (ANRE) about a cut ,starting from 8-9 July, of retail prices for liquefied gas by an average of 0.50-0.55 lei per litre. On 7 July, another two companies reduced prices for liquefied gas. As a result, the prices dropped from 10 lei to 9 lei and 0.47 lei per litre, on average, the ANRE's press service has reported.
Traders explain the cheapening by a diminution of the import prices of this product, a - tendency that appeared in last May. While in January, the liquefied gas was imported in Moldova for a 438-dollar price or 7,225 lei per one ton, and in April - 459 dollars or 7,918 lei (the highest price recorded since early 2015), then in May, the imports decreased by 6.1 per cent. The price for this fuel decreased by 55 dollars per ton, reaching 404 dollars.
ANRE notes that this is the second cut in the retail price of the liquefied gas since the beginning of 2015. In January, its price decreased from 10.17 lei/litre to 10.00 lei/litre.
Presently, 72 economic agents having activity licenses on retail trade of liquefied gas operate on the domestic oil market.
