Groups of negotiators from pro-European Moldovan parties to meet today

Chisinau, 14 July /MOLDPRES/ - The groups of negotiators from pro-European parties will meet today to draw up a draft agreement to establish a ruling coalition. The leaders of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), Democratic Party (PD) and Liberal Party (PL) made an announcement to this effect at the end of a new round of negotiations on 13 July.
The negotiations were held at the PL headquarters and lasted more than two hours. In the end the leaders of the three pro-European parties said that a new government could be set up by the end of July.
"We will create a new coalition, which will ensure the parliamentary majority and as a result - political support for a new government. We have not yet discussed possible names for the office of premier," said the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Vlad Filat.
The leader of the Democratic Party Marian Lupu announced that starting today a group of negotiators from the three parties would work in tandem with the basic political group on the draft agreement on the formation of the ruling alliance.
The leader of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu said that, during negotiations, the sides also discussed subject of electing the president. "Everybody thinks we made a mistake by not changing the mechanism of electing the president of the country", said Ghimpu.
The three leaders of the PLDM, PD and PL said that negotiations would continue.
