Chisinau, 14 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Economics Ministry and support project on DCFTA implementation today launched the webpage www.dcfta.md, dedicated to the free trade with EU.
The mentioned site represents an information platform as to implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with EU (DCFTA), a component of the Moldova-European Union Association Agreement, which provides the Moldovan business environment with enhanced data about rules to export to EU, customs procedures, EU market technical requirements and other necessary information in order to be able to export to the European market.
Attending the event, Acting Deputy Economics Minister Valeriu Triboi emphasised the usefulness of this portal for the entrepreneurial environment, civil society, public institutions and other interested parties, as a communication instrument on opportunities and conditions to access the European market.
„Once the Association Agreement entered into force, the Moldovan businessmen got access to the biggest sales market. We entered a period of adaption, compliance with requirements of this market, we entered a competition with strict rules. This is why we need an information resource which to provide enhanced, latest data on DCFTA implementation and business conditions with EU,” Triboi said.
For his part, Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Pirkka Tapiola highlighted that the mentioned site represented a useful instrument for the business environment in order to access the EU market and reiterated EU’s support for Moldova. „The European Union continues to provide the necessary support to the state institutions in order to implement structural reforms necessary to increase competitiveness of the entrepreneurial environment,” Tapiola said.
The Economics Ministry’s data show that the export of Moldovan products to the European Union recorded a positive trend and was of 524.5 million dollars or 64.6 per cent in January-May 2015, increasing by 10.8 per cent against the same period in 2014. Moldova’s main European partners as to exports are: Romania, Italy, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, France, Poland and Holland.
