Moldovan acting PM welcomes project on studying Romanian language in Comrat

Chisinau, 14 July /MOLDPRES/- Acting Prime Minister Natalia Gherman today congratulated Gagauz bashkan Irina Vlah on the occasion of the launch of a project on simultaneous learning of Romanian and Gagauz languages, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.

The project offers the residents of Gagauzia the opportunity to study Romanian language free of charge. Thus, during six months, 150 children and parents will simultaneously study the Romanian and Gagauz languages.

"This action was successful and popular. We hope to continue launching such projects to the benefit of Gagauz residents", Gherman said.

At the same time, the acting premier thanked the partners who had contributed to the project's launch. "In the elaboration and implementation of Strategy on Integration of National Minorities, we benefit from more expertise provided by our development partners. We highly appreciate and express our gratitude to the Romanian government, Turkish government, German government and the EU Delegation for support and strategic cooperation in social inclusion", she said.

The project amounting to 150,000 euros is supported by the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities and implemented by the National Association of European Trainers from Moldova.
