Chisinau, 15 July /MOLDPRES/- Romania has become the main sales market of Moldovan goods over the last two years. Moldova exported goods amounting to 185.3 million dollars to the Romanian market in January-May, up by 3 million against the eastern direction, according to the National Statistics Bureau (BNS).

It is the fifth month in a row when the supplies to the Romanian  market surpass the ones routed to the CIS. Romania's share in overall exports of Moldova increased by 22.2 per cent against 17 per cent in the same period of 2014.

The trade exchanges with Romania are on the rise, as the commerce with Russia and Ukraine is down. The trade relations with Russia worsened, as in late 2013, Moscow imposed embargo on the import of Moldovan alcoholic beverages, and in 2014, banned the import of vegetables, fruits and canned products. Although, the fruit supplies were resumed, after many negotiations, only about 20 enterprises got the right to export to the Russian market.

The Moldovan exports to the Russian market decreased by 53 per cent in the first five months of 2015. The Moldovan goods' supplies to Ukraine, which is currently facing a regional crisis, dropped by 68 per cent.

Many producers were focused on other markets of CIS, the exports to Kazakhstan increased by 65.5 per cent in the first five months of 2015 against the similar period of 2014, and to Belarus - by 11.4 per cent.

The trade exchanges with Romania, the greatest partner in foreign commerce of Moldova, increased by about 1 billion dollars in 2010-2014. "Thus, the bilateral trade exchanges of the two states recorded a 250-per cent- rise against 2010", the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau said.
