Chisinau, 16 July /MOLDPRES/ - "A new agreement on forming a ruling coalition could be signed shortly. In the coming days we will make a public announcement", said the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Vlad Filat at the end of a new round of talks with the leaders of the Democratic Party and Liberal Party on 15 July.
The leader of the Democratic Party Marian Lupu specified that he would not go into the details of the negotiations until they would be completed. "We had a useful dialogue, but the main task remains the one we previously announced: to sign the political agreement on constituting a parliamentary majority and invest the government by the end of July'', said Lupu.
The leader of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu said that the party he led would insist on some older issues such as the theft of one billion dollars from Banca de Economii (Savings Bank) as well as the appointment of a European prosecutor. "We analysed the socio-economic situation. We have yet to discuss about the candidacy for the office of premier, we must find solutions to old problems, one of the priority being the stolen billion", said Ghimpu.
The round of negotiations took place after a meeting lasting several hours at the parliament, which was also attended by leaders of the National Bank, General Prosecutor's Office and Economics and Finance Ministries.
