Moldovan acting premier meets Chinese envoy

Chisinau, 17 July /MOLDPRES/ - Acting Prime Minister Natalia Gherman received Chinese Ambassador to Moldova Tong Mingtao in a farewell visit, as he ends his mission, on 16 July, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

Gherman highly appreciated the envoy’s activity, as development of the bilateral political dialogue, economic and sector cooperation was recorded during his mandate, concrete collaboration projects in the area of agriculture, interior, culture were implemented. Moldova has benefited from Chinese technical assistance in amount of 18 million euros over the past years.

Natalia Gherman specified that Moldova spoke out for continuing efficient cooperation with the Chinese government in the context of implementation of the Silk Road Initiative, which provides new investment opportunities in agriculture, economy, infrastructure, as well as cultural and linguistic exchanges.

For his part, Tong Mingtao thanked Gherman for involvement and contribution to develop bilateral cooperation and was confident that this trend would be kept and strengthened further.
