Chisinau, 23 July /MOLDPRES/ - The leaders of the pro-European parties in the parliament today signed the agreement on the formation of the ruling alliance.
The MPs of the three parties applauded the signing of the document. Afterwards, the three leaders said that although the negotiations were difficult, the wish to continue Moldova’s process of European integration was the one that united them.
"Now we signed this agreement which represents a difficult negotiating process, but I want to point out that it was not the difficulty of the negotiations that was relevant to the signing of this document but the difficult situation in which the country finds itself. It was not easy because we do not only have a future, but also a past. Now our objective will represent the result of the aspirations of the people, we must implement the reforms needed to fulfil a series of conditions in order to improve our relations with development partners and we need tangible results in the fight against corruption. We agreed that we will provide a thorough reform, including the one in the institutions of law which must be rid of political influence. We will prepare everything necessary to invest a new government, "said the leader of the Liberal Democratic party (PLDM) Vlad Filat.
The leader of the Democratic Party (PD) expressed satisfaction and said that "now is the time for achievements".
"The Alliance for European Integration has a cause around which it was set up: Moldova's European integration and ensuring a decent standard of living for the people. I think that all members have showed wisdom in establishing the third Alliance and it will become a structure voicing the will of the citizens", said Lupu.
The leader of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu warned all heads of state structures and law enforcement bodies that European advisers will be carrying out their activity in more institutions soon. "Large and small leaders, start working", concluded Ghimpu.
The three leaders did not announce the nominal composition of the future government and did not make public the name the future premier, saying that they would soon be announced.
