Moldova, Kazakhstan agree to enhance economic ties

Chisinau, 24 July /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova and Kazakhstan agreed to boost economic ties, especially in the area of exports of agro-food products and mutual production and supply of qualitative seeds, seedlings. The fifth meeting of the Moldovan-Kazakh intergovernmental commission was held in Chisinau on 23 July and ended with the signing of a protocol on Moldovan-Kazakh cooperation development.
The mentioned document stipulates the involvement of the Trade Chambers in organising participation of businesspeople in fairs and exhibitions, various business forums and trade missions both in Moldova and Kazakhstan. It is also planned to increase the agro-food product exports, conclusion of long-term agreements on mutual production and supply of seeds, qualitative seedlings.
The Porumbeni Moldovan Crop Husbandry Institute and the Kazakh Institute for Agriculture Research and Plants will collaboration in order to create jointly corn hybrids adapted so that to be cultivated in Kazakhstan.
The sides will also cooperate in the area of breeding Karakul sheep, as well as in the scientific sector as to breed bovines for meat and livestock breed from Kazakhstan.
As regards the alcoholic beverages, the sides set to make information exchange as to legislation on alcoholic beverages, including the quality and safety of alcoholic products produced and sold on the markets of the two states. The officials will also study the capacity of consumption and categories of alcoholic beverages, as well as the market supply and will carry out advertisement campaigns in order to promote these goods.
Moldova exported goods in amount of 23 million dollars in the first five months of 2015, by 65 per cent more than in the same period of 2014. The imports diminished by almost 60 per cent down to 4.5 million dollars.
