Designated candidate for PM starts consultations with Moldovan parliamentary factions

Chisinau, 29 July /MOLDPRES/ - The designated candidate for the office of prime minister, Valeriu Strelet, on 28 July started consultations with parliamentary factions for the investiture of a new government.
Strelet had his first meeting with Democrats. "We discussed the prospect of immediate reforms, that we must promote in more sectors. We spoke about giving the final touches to the government's action programme," Valeriu Strelet said.
The leader of the Democratic Party (PDM), Marian Lupu , showed content with the consultations, specifying that the sides had agreed to hold a permanent dialogue. "The swearing in office of this cabinet comes in a quite tense period. We agreed to have a permanent communication to ensure sustainability and efficiency of our political structure," Lupu said.
After the meeting, with the PDM candidate, the designated prime minister met scientists at the Academy of Sciences, tackling problems they were facing. Strelet also asked them to involve in the settlement of the society's problems.
Under the Constitution, the designated prime minister has 15 days at his/her disposal to ask the parliament for the vote of confidence on the government's action programme and the nominal composition of the cabinet.
Valeriu Strelet is 45 years old; he is married and has four children. Strelet started his political activity in 1994, and has been holding more posts since then. In 2007, he was appointed deputy leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) and has been leading the Liberal Democrats' faction of the parliament starting from 2011.
