Moldovan candidate for PM post unveils government's action programme

Chisinau, 30 July /MOLDPRES/ - The candidate for the post of prime minister, Valeriu Strelet, presented the government’s action programme for 2015-2018 at a parliament plenary meeting today.
Strelet thanked citizens for the confidence provided at the past elections and urged colleagues to give the confidence vote to the future government, that will have to work in quite difficult conditions.
The main goal of the new cabinet is to enhance the well-being, safety and quality of life of citizens, especially by: developing economy and facilitating creation of well-paid jobs, fighting corruption and ensuring the supremacy of law, ensuring personal security, strengthening Moldova’s defence capacity, providing accessible and cost-efficient public services, ensuring social protection of vulnerable groups of the residents.
„The safest way to achieve these goals is the European integration. To this end, the government is set to create all premises, which once developed, will ensure the eligibility of Moldova as to getting the statute of candidate for European Union accession. To implement the concerned desideratum, the implementation of the Moldova-European Union Association Agreement served as basis for the government’s action programme. The Moldovan government will further speak out for the desideratum of reintegration of Moldova, as this is one of the basic priorities of the government process. The political settlement of the conflict will be correlated to the European integration of Moldova. The final settlement of the conflict must ensure the viable, democratic and sovereign nature of the reunified state,” Strelet said.
Among the goals of the future government, there are: the improving the well-being of citizens, by ensuring an inclusive economic increase and supporting vulnerable groups of society, fighting corruption, reforming the justice and law-enforcement institutions, ensuring access to education and quality health, upgrading the quality of services provided to citizens, cutting administrative costs and differences in development between regions, ensuring economic, financial and energy security of Moldova.
At the same time, the government is set to edify a society based on the European social model and the final goal of the government act is to transform Moldova into a strong state, with correct and just institutions, where the law works and public money is spent for the benefit of the society.
