New Moldovan government sworn in office

Chisinau, 30 July /MOLDPRES/ - The new government, led by Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet, was sworn in office at the Palace of the Republic late in the evening, in the presence of President Nicolae Timofti, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
The prime minister, deputy prime ministers and ministers sworn to give all their power and skills to develop Moldova, to observe the Constitution and laws of Moldova, to defend democracy, fundamental human rights and liberties, sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of Moldova.
Nicolae Timofti thanked the pro-European parliamentary factions for the confidence vote given to the government. Timofti also urged the new cabinet of ministers to continue reforms initiated in all sectors. „You have to show performances in the areas you are to manage. You have, in the person of president, a supporter of all efforts in order to achieve goals of national interest. I wish you every success. Work for people and people will support you. So God help us!”, Timofti said.
For his part, Prime Minister Valeriu Streleț assured that the new government will work to further implement the Moldova-European Union Association Agreement. „We have to maximally mobilise and, pursuant to the oath taken and each capacities, to devote to serve Moldova. We have the duty to take care of Moldovans, to create conditions to increase salaries, to create conditions that the most affected by price increases and other adverse effects of the crisis period not to feel that harsh this shock. I firmly believe in the potential of each cabinet member, I believe in Moldova's future!”, Strelet said.
The government's composition and action programme for 2015 -2018 got the parliament's confidence vote today. The government is made up of: Prime Minister Valeriu Strele; Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Natalia Gherman; Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Brega; Deputy Prime Minister Victor Osipov; Deputy Prime Minister, Economics Minister Stephane Christophe Bride; Finance MInister Anatol Arapu; Justice Minister Vladimir Cebotari; Interior MInister Oleg Balan; Defence Minister Anatol Șalaru; Labour and Social Protection Minister Mircea Buga; Health Minister Ruxanda Glavan; Agriculture Minister Ion Sula; Transport Minister Iurie Chirinciuc; Constructions and Regional Development MInister Vasile Bitca; Information Technology Minister Pavel Filip; Education Minister Corina Fusu; Culture Minister Monica Babuc; Youth and Sports Minister Loretta Handrabura; Environment Minister Valeriu Munteanu.
