Free economic zone to be extended in northern Moldovan city

Chisinau, 31 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Free Economic Zone from Balti (Moldova's second largest settlement) will be extended. The parliament adopted a draft law to this effect today.
The draft was proposed at an initiative by MPs Vadim Pistrinciuc and Igor Corman and provides for the creation of two new sub-zones with a total area of almost 25 hectares in Straseni and Causeni.
Under the draft, the Straseni sub-zone will have 15 hectares, and the Causeni one will be placed on an area of 8.5 hectares and is fully equipped.
According to the authors of the initiative, expanding the Balti Free Economic Zone will create at least 2,000 new jobs.
