Moldovan premier summons National Committee for Financial Stability

Chisinau, 3 August /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet summoned a meeting of the National Financial Stability Committee on 2 August, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The main topic of the meeting was the project on the terms of reference for detailed financial investigations on irregularities and suspicious transactions carried out by the Savings Bank (Banca de Economii), Social Bank (Banca Sociala) and Unibank. The document will provide the basis of the investigative process that will be a continuation of the preliminary examination carried out by the Kroll corporate investigations and risk consulting firm.
The National Bank of Moldova recently finalised the project on the terms of reference. International Monetary Fund and World Bank experts approved he document.
The participants in the meeting examined the clauses of the terms of reference, submitting proposals for its improvement. Those attending mentioned the importance of picking a reputable international company to supply the necessary services, selected on contest basis by the National Bank of Moldova. The contest will be organised in strict accordance with the law and ensuring society is correctly informed on the matter.
Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet requested those responsible to complete the terms of reference according to proposals received at the meeting on 2 August and to present the finalised document at the next meeting of the National Committee for Financial Stability.
