Chisinau, 3 August /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet received a congratulatory message on his swearing in office on behalf of his Romanian counterpart Victor Ponta. The message was forwarded to Strelet at a meeting with Charge d’affaires of the Romanian embassy to Moldova Cristian Leon Turcanu, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
„The Romanian government and Ministry of Foreign Affairs are confident that you will manage to overcome this quite difficult stage Moldova is going through. Romania will continue to back the implementation of the pro-European reforms agenda, for Moldova's development and modernisation,” Turcanu said.
Strelet highly appreciated the constant support provided to Moldova by the Romanian government and thanked for the providing of assistance in adjusting the national legislation to the European Union’s one.
„The aid provided by Romania is incontestable. I am firmly sure that the Moldovan-Romanian ties will be on the rise. Romania is not just a neighbour country, but also an important supporter of Moldova,” Strelet said.
The officials also approached issues on the cooperation agenda between Moldova and Romania, especially Moldova’s energy security and ensuring the financial and banking stability.
