In particular, Strelet referred to investment projects implemented in Moldova with the support of American partners.
„We ascertain with satisfaction the beneficial effects of the implementation of the Compact Agreement of the Millennium Challenge Corporation and we evoke the increased interest in Moldova's inclusion as beneficiary country of the second Compact Programme. This is likely to contribute to enhancing the energy efficiency and security of Moldova,” Strelet specified.
For his part, James Pettit welcomed the creation of the Moldovan government and voiced openness for collaboration with Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet and the government. Pettit reiterated the USA’s support for continuing the implementation of the agenda of transformations assumed by Moldova, fighting corruption, society’s democratisation and economic reform.
Since 1992, the United States of America has provided Moldova with financial assistance worth about 1.2 billion dollars, of which 20.66 million dollars were provided by the American government in 2014.
