Chisinau, 3 August /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova's foreign debt dropped by 15.5 million dollars in the first six months of 2015, down to 1,290,000,600 dollars in late last June, according to a report by the Finance Ministry.
The ministry explains the debt's decrease by the negative fluctuation of the exchange rate of the dollar against the other foreign currencies and entries of foreign finances higher that reimbursements, which compensated the difference of 50.4 million dollars as a result of American currency's depreciation. The quota of the foreign debt in Moldova's Gross Domestic Product stands at 20 per cent.
About 407 million lei were paid to cover the foreign debt, which accounts for 93.7 per cent of the amount scheduled for this period.
Under the state budget law for 2015, „on 31 December 2015, the foreign debt will not exceed 1,472,000,400 dollars and the balance of the foreign securities will be zero”.
