Chisinau, 5 August /MOLDPRES/ - The Energy and Biomass project, financed by the European Union, launched, in partnership with the Energy Efficiency Agency, a programme on subsidizing the purchasing of boilers for households and small enterprises.
A number of about 300 homes and 50 businesses will receive grants worth 1,300 euros and 700 euros, with the amount established depending on the technical parameters of the selected boiler.
"The subsidization programme was also extended to the Energy and Biomass II project, due to its success recorded in the first phase. The rules for submitting the file have remained the same, with the only novelty lying in the gradation of the subsidy depending on the selected biomass boiler’s performance", said Energy and Biomass Project Manager Alexandru Ursul.
The applications for registration in the programme may be submitted beginning with 10 August, to the Energy Efficiency Agency. The beneficiaries of the subsidies may be individuals and small businesses residing or established in Moldova. Applicants must be the owners of the house where the boiler will be installed, and the building should not be connected to the centralized heating system.
The Energy and Biomass II is a project carried out during 2015-2017 and has a budget of 9.4 million euros, provided by the European Union. The project is implemented by the United Nations Development Programme. In the first phase of the project (2011-2014), 620 families and enterprises from different Moldovan districts set biomass boilers.
