Moldovan premier demands report on fire in Chisinau

Chisinau, 12 August /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet has demanded a report on fire which occurred on the street Puskin in Chisinau last night. Strelet made the request at the beginning of a today cabinet meeting, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
Strelet commented the intervention of firemen to extinguish the fire and criticized the poor equipment bad equipment of the Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service.
„Those who were on the spot, including government colleagues, say that the Emergency Situations Service lags behind in terms of equipment, as well as quickness of actions. It lasted to much to extinguish the fire. Therefore, I ask the interior minister to present a detailed note, a description of the technical condition of the Service, as well as proposals on an appropriate equipment, including communication methods during these emergency situations. Firemen were discussing with their chiefs crying from above,” Strelet said.
Sixteen fire engines and 65 people were involved in bringing under control and extinguishing the fire, burst out at the crossroad of the streets Puskin and București last night. Material damages are set.
