European banking, macro-financial, corruption experts to provide Moldova with assistance

Chisinau, 18 August /MOLDPRES/ - Three new high-level advisors in the banking, macro-financial and anti-corruption sectors will provide Moldova with assistance through the European Union High Level Policy Advice Mission to the Republic of Moldova (EUHLPAM).

The mission was formed as a response by the European Union to a request of the Moldovan government for assistance within the democratic reforms and European integration of the country, according to a press release by the EU Delegation in Moldova.

A group of public policies advisers were deployed to the main state institutions. They provide public policy counselling to national authorities to strengthen their capacity to implement the EU-Moldova association agenda.

The mission offered support for the enforcement of the Association Agreement and EU standards and regulations, through high-level expertise in various fields. The Mission presently provides guidance in public policies in the following sectors: energy, economics, education, domestic affairs (including the police), transport and anti-corruption.

One of the new experts provides high-level advice in the office of the prime minister on matters related to fighting corruption, another one will work in the banking sector, and the third will provide expertise in public money management and macro-financial forecasts to the Finance Ministry.
