Chisinau, 22 August /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet today participated in the official opening of the third issue of the DOR summer camp. The prime minister noted the importance of organising such a project, aimed at strengthening the emotional , cultural and identity ties and of children from the Diaspora with Moldova, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
"We need energy, a new vision and clear will to bring Moldova on a new path of development. The thesaurus coming from abroad is a source of ideas and inspiration that we need", Valeriu Strelet said.
After the official opening, the prime minister was assailed with questions by the DOR programme participants - about 80 children between 12 and 17 years of age. They were curious to find out about actions undertaken by the government to bring back the Moldovans working abroad home, job offers, as well as about Moldova's accession to the European Union.
"The chances are within us. The foundations for some successful processes have already been laid down. In a short time, the situation in Moldova will get to normal", the premier said.
Valeriu Strelet reiterated that the government's priorities were macro-financial stability, justice reform, fighting corruption, developing the economy and attracting investments, creating friendly conditions for working and living in Moldova.
Children asked Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet to give them advice on how to achieve their goals in life. "Believe in the fact that you can achieve the goal that you set out for yourself and that dreams can come true. Do not miss a single moment and always be on the move", the prime minister said.
The children also showed interest in the prime minister's private life. They asked him if he liked sports, what kind of music he listened to and the three things he never did nor would do. "I have not embezzled, stolen money and I am not a corrupt man. I have not committed crimes. I didn’t reach Everest, but I hope to", Valeriu Strelet said.
In the end, the prime minister was invited to dance the DOR hora (traditional dance) with the camp participants and their parents.
The DOR programme has been organised by the Bureau for Diaspora relations (BRD) since 2013, and is held under the patronage of the prime minister. This year, children from seven countries - Italy, Portugal, Greece, Romania, Spain, Ukraine, Canada, and Moldova - participate in the camp.
