Chisinau, 20 April /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved a 10.5-per cent increase in the minimum guaranteed quantum of the salary in the real sector to 2,100 lei, due to be applied starting from 1 May 2016.
Under the government decision, beginning with 1 May, “the minimum guaranteed quantum of salary in the real sector (at enterprises, institutions with financial autonomy, no matter the form of property and legal organisation form) is established at 12.43 lei per one hour or 2,100 lei per month, calculated for one full working programme of 169 hours per month on average.”
The minimum guaranteed size of the salary in the real sector is annually re-examined by the government, depending on the yearly increase in the consumer prices index and the rate of rise of the labour productivity nationally. The consumer prices index stood at 9.7 per cent in 2015, and the labour productivity grew by one per cent.
On the last three years, the guaranteed minimum salary has increased by 27 per cent. If the units apply the tariff or non-tariff wage payment system, the size of the overall monthly wage of an employee cannot be smaller than the minimum guaranteed quantum of the salary in the real sector, set by the government, after consultation with the social partners.
